Guillermo Garingan Batarao

November 15, 1937 - January 22, 2022

GUILLERMO GARINGAN BATARAO, 84, passed away on January 22, 2022 at Astria Toppenish Hospital. He was born November 15, 1937, in Solano Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. He was the eldest son of Ignacio Batarao, Sr. and Rosa Garingan, Aunt Esther Tolentino husband Crispiniano Tolentino Pedro Garingan. Guillermo graduated at Saint Louis High School in the Philippines, class of 1953. Following graduation, he pursued a career in building constructions and then immigrated in the United States of America in 1988 to follow his parents and seven siblings. In his younger years, he loved to play basketball and people in his hometown in Vizcaya described him as the “Man with the Golden Hand” as he has impeccable basketball shooting skills. Some say he can shoot a basketball blindfolded and shooting from backwards. Guillermo dedicated his time helping his parents take care of his other siblings while they are attending school. He is a loving, kind and generous person and admired by many. Guillermo is survived by his siblings, Juliet Batarao, Caroline Batarao, Rogelio Batarao, Sr. with his wife (Julie Gaerlan Batarao) and their five children (Ryan Batarao, Maria Batarao, Rogelio Batarao, Jr., Marcos Batarao and John Paul Batarao); Raymond Batarao with his wife (Consuelo Cassanova Batarao) and their two children (Teddy Batarao and Randy Batarao); Ignacio Batarao, Jr. with his wife (Marietta Paglinawan Batarao) and their three children Robert Batarao, Lorelei Batarao and Liezel Batarao; Dominic Batarao with his wife (Manuela Paras Batarao ); Johnny Batarao with his wife (Debbie Mendez) and their three children (Glenda Boggs, Jessica Mendez and Michael Mendez), son/daughter in-laws (Carlo, Tim, Juliet, Miriam, Eden, Annalyn, Lupe, Timora, Yazmin and Jayda) ,his many cousins, and grandchildren (John Ray, Rhianna, Ysabelle, Luli, Jet, Romulus, David, Mochi, Arol, Zeth, Ysiah, Aerith, Viola, Isiah, Iliana, Joshua, Elijah, Rebecca, Elisha, Gabriela, Analeis, Abegail, Jonathan, Carolyn, TJ, Julianna and Trumwin.) Friends may visit family on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at the Valley Hills Funeral Home, Wapato, WA. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Peter Claver Church, Wapato, Washington. Interment will be at West Wapato Cemetery, Wapato Washington.
