With a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Celia Alvaraz Fernandez who was called up to heaven to join our heavenly Father after battling cancer on June 20, 2025 at the age of seventy nine.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by her children at home. Born in Mexico in a small rancho called Gomez Farias on May 7th, 1946. She lived her young adult life in Mexico until she married Salvador Fernandez, son of Aldolfo and Ausencia Fernandez. They both moved into the United States back in 1970 to have a better life and where she made a life ultimately in Sunnyside, Washington where she dedicated her life to the agricultural industry.
Celia made herself a member of the St. Joseph church in Sunnyside where she was valued and loved from those who knew her. She always brought joy and teachings to those in need in finding our Savior Jesus Christ. Engraved in her calling, she maintained a demure outlook in life.
She is preceded in death by her husband Salvador Fernandez Sr, her son Juan Carlos Fernandez, her parents Guadalupe Escobar Rocha and Ramon Alvarez Fernandez, and her siblings Antonio Alvarez and Lucia Alvarez Rocha. She is survived by her sister Angelita Flores and brother Jesus Alvarez her three children Salvador and his wife Cindy, Jose Antonio and his wife Karen and her only daughter Maria Fernandez as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all who have been there for the family in this time of sorrow.
