Wornie "Leon" Hurst was born in Farwell TX on 10/09/1927 to Wornie G. and Jewel (Dosher) Hurst. Leon passed away at his home on 04/20/2017 in Yakima WA. Joining the love of his Life Maxine. Leon was a Paratrooper in WWII with the 11th Airborne and loved to share those stories with his grandchildren. Leon worked many jobs in his life but was most known for selling cars throughout the state , with Hahn Motor Company in Yakima and most memorable his own endeavor at the Auto Corral in Hazeldale WA. Leon will always be remembered for his love of his grandchildren and his colorful stories of yesteryears. He is preceded in death by his wife Maxine Hurst. Parents Wornie and Jewel, siblings: Lena, Walter, Cora, Charles (Uncle Chuck), Lovysa, Otis and Wiley. Former wife Joyce and son Terry, Lydia, and son Steve. Leon was survived by 1 brother Ernest Hurst, and Leon’s children include: Richard, Michelin, Curtis, Cathie and lil Ernie. Leon has numerous Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren cousins and friends near and far. Special recognition to Liz and Dave and family for the care that they provided.
