Winona Bending

Winona Mae Lewis Bending was born on January 23 1955 in Yakima, WA. She was born to Frank Lewis, Sr. and Inez Ashue Lewis. Winona was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. She attended White Swan High School and later on Haskell Indian College. She married Reuben Bending on December 27, 1986. Her and Reuben had two sons, Nicholas Bending and Andrew Bending. She also was a sister to the following siblings, Jerry Dean Lewis, Terry Dale Lewis, Frank Lewis Jr., Gail Ann Lewis and Patrick Lewis Winona's favorite pass times where tending to the flowers in her garden, going up to the mountains to dig roots and pick Huckleberries, the occasional game of bingo and visiting her friends and family. Winona was preceded in death by her parents and inlaws Rebecca Bending and Raymond Bending Sr including her brother Terry Dale Lewis and brother in law Raymond Bending, Jr. Services for Winona will be held on Friday October 20th at Toppenish Creek Longhouse at 2pm with burial to follow on October 21st at sunrise at Yesmowit cemetery To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Winona Bending, please visit our flower store.
