On July 17, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, our earth angel Wilma Sharples went to be with her Lord and Savior. Born on July 22, 1943 to Pearl and Willard Morris, Wilma Jane Morris was the feisty second child of five children. She started her education in Naches, WA and finished it in Highland High School after the family moved to Tieton, WA. While dragging the Yakima Avenue one night she met James Sharples and on January 13, 1963 the two were married. They had two children, a daughter Jamie and a son Michael, who were the light of her life. Years later, she was blessed with three grandchildren and one great grandson, who she adored. Wilma loved being with her family whether on camping and beach trips, visiting Jamie’s Navy duty stations, watching Jim and Michael’s wild race days, or just the frequent extended family BBQ in the back yard. She also enjoyed working in the flower gardens, cooking, and entertaining friends. The family will miss those wonderful Kahlua cakes everyone received for Christmas. She was a beautiful person both inside and out and will be missed until we are all together again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara LaBarr, and brother Larry Morris. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James Sharples, daughter Jamie (Paul) Hammer, son Michael Sharples, three grandchildren, Jenna Sharples, Tiffany (Jake) Liddicoat, and Ryan Kersten, one great-grandson Oliver Liddicoat, sister Joyce (Don) McBride, brother Bill (Donna) Morris, sisters-in-law Rickie Orchard and Laura (Mike) Beard, brothers-in-law John Johnson and Erving LaBarr, and numerous nieces and nephews.
