Wilma Lee Numkena “Utsunmi”
A member of the Spokane Indian Tribe went to be with the creator on September 21st early in the morning.
She is survived by, her husband Kevin Numkena of White Swan, four daughters Bryanna Broncheau, Kyleigh Martinez, Jaelynn Maas, Izabel Numkena all of White Swan,
Her siblings Marvin Martinez III of Toppenish, Kevin, Kyle and Kurtis Smartlowit all of Toppenish, Sisters Tee-Xaksh Martinez and Faith Martinez of White Swan and Tashina Sam.
Her Parents Valarie and Wayne Smartlowit, and Marvin and Lisa Martinez Jr.
Grandparents Sybil and Raymond Smartlowit, and Marvin and Delilah Martinez Sr.
She graduated from Yakama Tribal School in 2005, and attended college in New Mexico, where she obtained an Associates. Her hobbies included camping with her family, going root digging as well as berry picking, she enjoyed attending rodeos and concerts, she loved playing basketball in her younger years. She lived a crazy and carefree life.
Wilma was preceded in death by her brothers Nicholas Martinez, Lo-Quish Martinez, and Roy Tahmalwash, her grandparents Albert and Wilma Brown, Louie and Helen Napyer, and one daughter Sukini Martinez
Dressing services will be private with over night services at the Wapato Longhouse, with sunrise services to follow at the Toppenish Creek Cemetery in White Swan. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.valleyhillsfh.com
