Obituary

William “Bill” Wingardner of Zillah, WA passed away peacefully at his home on May 15, 2026 at the age of 70.

Bill was born on May 15, 1956, in Yakima, WA to Walter Wingardner and Julie Castillo. Bill grew up in Zillah and graduated from Zillah High School. He spent much of his life in the Lower Valley area, where he built his life and legacy around farming, hard work, and dedication to the land.

On April 6, 1984, he married Christie Lynn Buesch, and together they raised three children. They shared many years of marriage, family, and memories until her sudden passing in 2017. They would go on lots of camping, beach, and road trips, always taking the scenic route.

Bill was a farmer through and through where he took great pride in the life he built from the ground up. He was known for his love of a Diet Pepsi with fresh ice in his cup, his Springer Spaniels, playing on his pool league, cornhole with his kids, pool parties, BBQs, and spending time in his cherry orchard.

He is survived by his daughters, Anna Wingardner and Emily Dellinger (Justin), and his son, Austin Wingardner, siblings Walt Wingardenr, Betty Purdy(Jim), Pauline Elston(Rodney) as well as nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Christie Wingardner parents, Walter Wingardner and Julie Castillo. His legacy will live on through his children, and the many lessons he tried to teach them and memories he shared with those he loved.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 30th at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside, Washington. Service is from 11am-12pm with reception to follow.
