William (Bill) James Wentz 63, of Selah, Washington lost his courageous battle with cancer on December 29th at Cottage in the Meadow surrounded by his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his daughters Angela Wentz, April (Dave) Roach, Misty (Craig) Prince, son Dustin (Ashley) Wentz, sisters Kathy (Shane) Kingrey, Karen (Dave) Milburn, Kay Wheeler, brother Bruce Wentz, grandchildren Makai Roach, Mya Roach, Braylon Meeks, Brea Moralez, Brekken Meeks, Owen Wentz, Alayna Wentz, Jonathan Prince, Kaylee Prince and many loved nieces, nephews and extended family.
Bill was always there to help relatives and friends with projects, road trips or lend a helping hand when needed, and he never met a stranger. He was a true American Cowboy and carried that cowboy spirit throughout his life.
Dad’s upbeat and positive take while fighting cancer has been shared with us on numerous occasions. He was a fighter and fought till the end. We thank the newly found brothers and sisters at the Church of Latter-Day Saints in both Moxee and Selah in helping him to soften his heart and allowing Christ into his life.
A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards North Star Lodge and especially Dr. Obulareddy for taking care of Dad during his battle with colon cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Wentz and Rosaline (Brown) Wentz.
Friends and family are invited to Celebration of Life for Bill. The service will be at the Church of Latter-Day Saints, 702 N 1st Street Selah, Washington at 10:00 am on Friday, January 3. Bill will have his ashes spread later with his family present. Please visit www.ValleyHillsfh.com to share a memory or condolence with the family.
