William Jackson Lewis Jr. “Buffy” – Xmamsalii 65 years old, of Lone Pine in lieu fishing site, The Dalles, Wasco County, Oregon. Passed away Wednesday Oct 11, 2023. Born June 4, 1958 in Toppenish Washington to William Jackson Lewis Sr., and the late Anita Sampson Lewis. Born and raised on the Yakama Reservation. He was educated in the Toppenish, White Swan and Union Gap school districts. He was an accomplished artist, he loved to draw horses. He was a fisherman and he loved the Columbia River therefore he bought himself a trailer and lived at the Lone Pine in-lieu site for the past 20+ years. He was an Indian outlaw, living his life on his terms, therefore he lived among all, including other outlaws. He loved to read cowboy stories by Lous L’Amour. Little know fact was that he had a photogenic memory. He is survived by his father William Jackson Lewis Sr. Sisters, Constance Jim, Sandra Jim, Jeanne Lewis-Smiskin (Harry). Brothers Glen Ross Lewis, Carl Damon Lewis (Christine), Allen Lee Lewis, Richard Lewis. Nieces Diane Pebeahsy, Robyn Pebeahsy, Nichole Pebeahsy, Trisha Kramer, Amanda Lewis, Jaclyn Ferguson, Victoria Jim,. Nephew Vincent Lewis Grandchildren, Carmen Selam, Reed Sekaquaptewa, Helen Sekaquaptewa, Mia Tahmalwash, Kimberly Wachumwah, Janelle Ferguson, Nash Ferguson, Mack Ferguson, TJ Ferguson, Andrew Kramer, JT Kramer, Danielle Kramer. And many other nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his Mother Anita Sampson Lewis. Sister Judy Lewis Bergavin, brother Carter “Herbie” Jim. Grandsons Eric Pebeahsy “Eric Estrada” and Tyson Wachumwah. Grand parents, Charlie and Mary Lewis, Charlie and Bessie Sampson. Dressing Services will be Oct 14, 2023 9:00 am Valley Hills Wapato (Merritt), followed by viewing. After viewing transport to Beavert Cemetery to be laid by his mother. Giveaway and lunch at Satus Longhouse. Officiating Deland Olney.
