William Norman "Bill" Coursey was born in Brighton, Colorado, on February 28, 1939, in the home of his parents, Roy E. and Jo Anna (Morris) Coursey. His family moved to Grandview, WA, in 1953. Bill graduated from Grandview High School with the class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Air Forces with the Air Cadet Corps.
After his service, he earned his rating as a Helicopter Pilot for Helicopter Services Inc. in Yakima, WA, as a Crop Duster. This took him from Bickleton to Badger Pocket. In the off-season, he flew for the U.S. Forest Service, Weyerhaeuser, and Perpetual Forests, timber seeding from Forks, WA, to Northern CA.
William later opened his Upholstery shop, from which he retired in 1995. He was most proud of being a pilot and of being a member of the class of 1957. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Marie (Gervais) Coursey, daughter Michele Jeanne (Coursey) McGhuey(Shawn), and son Christopher Coursey. He is also a brother to Roy M. Coursey (Marilyn) of Lenore, Idaho, nieces Kimberlee and Karen, and nephew Kelly. Predeceased by his parents and a brother, Michael W. Coursey. At his request, there will be no service.
