William Robert Ash Jr., peacefully passed away on, February 4, 2015, at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 13, 1933 to William & Teresa. He joined the US Army, where he proudly served his country, until his honorable discharge. He was stationed at the Yakima Firing Center, where he met his wife, Lavina Cyr. They had 2 children, Kris & Debra.
Bill was a hardworking, straightforward, strong willed man, whose family was his everything. He bought Central Heating and Plumbing in the late 1960s. He owned and operated a very successful business, built on his work ethic and reputation. He was a Journeyman Plumber, who was an excellent mentor and teacher to those fortunate enough to work with him. Bill loved to cook big family meals and made lasting memories, as a loving family man. He also enjoyed old cars and his soft-tail Harley Davison. He left a legacy his family will forever treasure.
He is survived by his son, Kris Ash, and daughter, Debra Sides, as well as his grandchildren, Steven Ash, Sherry Ash, Kevin Ash, Krystal Ash, Randy Sides and Kandy Ozuna. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Alexis McCoy, Logan McCoy, Garrett Sides, Evan Sides, Ryker Ozuna and Carter Ozuna. Bill’s companion for many years and surviving significant other was and will forever be, Gail Ringering. His sisters, Patricia Franks and Delores Weaver are also surviving, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is planned for Monday from 2-7PM at Valley Hills Funeral Home (2600 Business Ln., Yakima), across the street from his pride and joy, Central Mechanical Services. A horse drawn funeral procession will leave from Central Mechanical Services and arrive at New Hope Community Church, (29 Channel Dr. Yakima), where full Military honors will be rendered. Private inurnment will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
