Wilda Allyn (Harriman) Larsen, 96, of Everson, WA peacefully passed away Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 at her daughter and son in law’s home in Zillah, WA. Wilda was born June 1st, 1918 in Tofield, Alberta, Canada to Ronald and Ina Jean McHeffey Harriman. She came to the Untied States with her parents in November 1922. She graduated from Mt. Baker High School. Before marrying, Wilda worked for two doctors in Bellingham. With the money earned she bought her first horse, a wild mustang, and a saddle. She broke this horse to do many things from racing in the Sedro Wooley Rodeo Race to playing her guitar and yodeling while she was and riding and many tricks. She and Orval Larsen married in 1940. They have three children, Barbara Beard of Everson, WA, Loretta (Russell) Bryan of Zillah, WA and Ward (Carole) Larsen of Everson, WA; along with numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren. Orval and WIlda moved several times between Yakima and Whatcom counties finally settling on a homestead in Everson, WA. throughout her life her interests included motherhood, horticulture, sewing, crocheting, horses, rodeo, and pioneering in the real sense of homesteading.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10:00am at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in the Nooksack Cemetery in Nooksack, WA. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.valleyhillsfh.com
