Wendell Scott “Scotty” Jennings, 53, was born on April 20, 1960 in Fort Lewis, Washington and passed away on April 18, 2014 in Yakima, Washington. He is survived by his mother, Cordelia Jennings, sister Julie (Jennings) Wood (Don), nieces Carley and Morgan Wood and nephew Kenny Wood, uncles Cliff (Doris) and Bob (Mary) Hagemeier and Auntie “Toots” (Tom) Wheeler, and many cousins. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Vernon E. Jennings Jr., grandparents Clifford and Doris Hagemeier and Vernon Sr. and Vivian Jennings.
Scott graduated from Curtis High School in 1979 and attended Seattle Central Community College’s Graphic Arts Program. He worked in the food and beverage industry managing the dining rooms at Paradise Inn at Mt. Rainier, Montauk Yacht Club in New York, Rosario Resort on Orcas Island, WA, Furnace Creek Inn and Resort in Death Valley, CA, and several other restaurants throughout the years.
After calling Orcas Island home for 13 years, Scotty relocated to Yakima, WA in 2007. He then continued his Pepper Moon Gourmet Condiment business, selling his products at the local farmer’s markets and craft fairs throughout the Yakima Valley and surrounding areas.
Throughout Scotty’s lifetime, he always surrounded himself with animals. His other passions included cooking and gardening. He was born with many artistic talents. One of Scotty’s greatest joys was creating gifts to give others.
Celebration of life will be held at Grace of Christ Presbyterian Church (formerly First Presbyterian Church), Yakima, WA Friday, April 25, 2014 2:00 p.m.
