Wayne Boob

Wayne Boob, 70, of Zillah, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Cottage In The Meadow with his wife by his side. Wayne was born on January 6, 1946 in Yakima to Ray and Ethel Boob. His mom and twin brother passed away when he was born. He was raised by his grandparents, Banner and Evelyn Thompson in Toppenish until his teen years when he moved to Granger to be with his dad and stepmother, Phyllis. He graduated from Granger High School in 1964 and joined the Air Force in 1965. Wayne retired from the Toppenish School District in 2013 after driving bus for 20 years. Wayne had an outgoing personality and loved spending time with his family and friends. He specially loved being with his grandchildren, Bryson, Kayla and Kyleigh. He also liked helping out in the community. He was a volunteer firefighter for District 5 for 30 years. He was also a member of the Yakima Valley Rail and Steam Museum where he spent countless hours getting his train ready for Toy Train Christmas. He was also a member of Iron Angels Car Club and was looking forward to showing the Bronco he was restoring. Wayne was also a volunteer for Blue Mountain Wildlife where he helped rescue and transport injured birds. Wayne is preceded in death by his mother Ethel, twin brother Warren, father Ray, stepmother Phyllis, his grandparents Banner and Evelyn Thompson and Lavern and Frances Boob, and brother Larry Schwab. Wayne is survived by Wilma his wife of 44 years, son Donovan (Liz), grandchildren bryson, Kayla, and Kyleigh, brothers Ed (gail) Boob, Roger Schwab, Steve Schwab and sister Carol Abed. Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 27th at 11:00 am at the Zillah Cemetery. A potluck will fallow at the Buena Grange Hall.
