Warren Niel Smartlowit (Yow-wee-yah), of Wapato, WA was born May 25, 1958 to Peter Smartlowit and Jeannette Miller Smartlowit.
He graduated from Wapato High School and attended Santa Fe IAIA Collage and longed to go back. Warren was a firefighter, artist, and gardener. He liked giving his nieces and nephews nicknames. Warren liked to walk all over places so we called him the wanderer, he can never stay in one place. He was a hunter, a berry picker, and fast root digger.
He joined his father Peter, mother Jeannette, siblings: Renee Elwell, brother Arthur (Bub) Smartlowit, and niece Star Lamebull, grandparents Gilbert and Annie Smartlowit, and Tony and Hazel Miller.
He is survived by Rita Wallahee, Norris Smartlowit, Leah Smartlowit, Elkay (Greg) Lamebull, and lots of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at All Tribes Christian Center in Wapato, WA with overnight services to follow. Burial will be at the Emeunot Cemetery in Wiley City.
