Walt
Wingardner
Dec 2, 1957 — Sep 26, 2026
Zillah
In Loving Memory Of
Walter Wingardner Jr.
December 2, 1957– September 26, 2026
Walt was born in Toppenish Washington to Walter Wingardner Sr and Julia Castillo on Dec. 2nd 1957 and raised in Zillah Wa. On Sept. 26th 2026 Walt went to be with our Heavenly Father. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Walt was well known for his mechanical skills and history of farming. Walt loved working on anything with a motor, playing at the rock pit, spending time around his pond, taking trips along the Oregon coast, and enjoying the peaceful scenery in the mountains. There wasn’t anything Walt couldn’t tear apart and rebuild even better. But most of all Walt loved helping people, especially youth. He loved teaching them about heavy machinery, how to drive dump trucks, and how to fix an engine.
There were countless times where the neighborhood kids would stop by the shop with flat bike tires, broken chains, or broken scooters and Walt would not only happily repair them, but he would teach them how to do it themselves in the process. He was a great teacher and it brought him great joy to be able to teach them a trade, life skills and independence. His legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren.
Walt was preceded in death by his Father Walter Sr., mother Julia, brother Ralph Castillo and Brother William Wingardner.
Walt is survived by his son and daughter in law Allen and Jaime Wingardner, daughter and son in law Tawnya and Richard Carrillo, step daughter and son in law Tami and Todd Graham, Joshua Sorocco, grandchildren Summer and Sean Camarata, Emma Perez, Emilio Perez, Cody Wingardner, Logan Carrillo, Jaylee Wingardner, Ava Carrillo, Scott Carrillo, great grandson Braxton Camarata, sister Betty and brother in law Jim Purdy, Sister Pauline and brother in law Rodney Elston, and many nieces and nephews.
