Walt Frank Bremer – Born June 25, 1931 in Wenatchee passed away on August 14, 2013 with his family surrounding him. He spent his childhood in Wapato and joined the Navy on January 26, 1952 until January 26, 1956, serving as a Boatswain’s Mate Third Class in the Korean War. In 1954, he married Patricia Joan Hendren. They moved to Toppenish in 1956. Throughout his life, he raised pigs and horses, farmed alfalfa, worked at the Sugar Beat Factory, slaughter house, Del Monte, Washington Beef, and purchased his first truck in 1959 or 1960. This began his career in the short haul trucking business, and he owned and was a driver for Bremer Trucking. His love of life was trucking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Bremer and Bessie Bremer (Bennett), his wife Patricia Bremer (Hendren), children Jon Bremer and Josette Mahre, brothers Bud and Bill Bremer, sisters Evelyn Bauer and Esther Bremer. He is survived by children Karen Bremer and Walter Bremer of Toppenish, Mark Bremer of Shelton, Tanya Bremer of Toppenish, and Nicole and James York of Buena. Also, he is survived by his siblings – Blanche Chapman of Sumner, Lloyd Moorehouse of Olympia, Helen Biesecker of Graham. and Ed Chapman of Union Gap. Walt Bremer was a grandfather of 10 and has (2) great grandchildren. The last words he uttered were, “I love you”, while looking in the eyes of his youngest grandchild.
