Virginia Dawn Walker
On January 21, 2018 our beloved Mother, with her family by her side, went to be with our Father in Heaven in Prosser, WA. Virginia was born March 7, 1926 to Hallie and Lenore Allen in Yakima, WA. The family lived in Zillah then moved to Naches Heights to raise apples. After high school mom met her future husband Lee Alva Walker in Yakima. They married January of 1949 in Lewiston Idaho and made their home raising fruit on Naches Heights. They started their family and were blessed with 2 daughters, Sandra and Cheryl, and one son, Bruce. While raising a family, she also worked for Strand Fruit and Evans Fruit. Mom lived on the ranch until she was 91 under the care of her son. She moved to Sun Terrace in Prosser due to ill health.
Mom loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and fishing. Her favorite picnic and camping sites included Soda Springs on the Bumping River. She was also an excellent gardener, seamstress and crafter. Mom will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her sister Polly Kerr (Calvin) Rome, Ga, brother Rex Allen, Marietta, Ga; daughters Sandra Robertson (Greg) Prosser, WA, Cheryl Rowe (Johnnie) Selah and son Bruce Walker, Yakima; grandchildren Kari Robertson, Lauri Irion (Colin), Heather Simmons (Jeremiah) and Charles Lewis (Crystal) and 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
