August 11, 1955 — March 23, 2014

Vicky was embraced in the Lord’s arms on Sunday March 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 11, 1955 in Burlington, WA to Juan Olivas and Maria Estella Rebellosa, she was raised and educated in Toppenish, WA, graduating from Toppenish High School in 1973. She then attended Yakima Valley Community College and Bellevue Community College. She was employed by the Toppenish School District as an Educational Administrative Secretary until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, teaching Religious Education for 34 years. She also taught Cub Scouts of America for 7 years. Vicky enjoyed and put a lot of effort into her hobbies, such as sewing, quilting, collecting Nativity scenes, attending her Bible Study Fellowship, enjoying lunch and movie dates with her friends and family, and most of all traveling. Vicky was married to the father of her two beautiful children, Virgil Brown, from 1975-1985. She then blessed them with a step-father, Gerardo Torres. She is preceded in death by her mother Maria Estella Rebellosa. She is survived by her daughter Andrea Mackie and son-in-law David Mackie, son Adam Brown and girlfriend Brianna Howze, grandson Seager Storment, granddaughter Amber Mackie, brothers: John Olivas Jr., David Olivas, and Joe (Janell) Olivas, sisters: Lydia (Manuel) Alvarado, Sylvia (Ron) Forgey, and Santa Olivas, father Juan Olivas, numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, god children and close friends. Our family would like to send a special thank you to Yakima Memorial Hospice team for your care and kindness. As well as a very special thank you to her liver donor Sheri Ann Griffith; thank you for blessing our lives with an additional 10 beautiful years. In honor of Vicky please consider organ donation. Viewing from 4 pm - 8 pm, and Rosary at 6 pm, will be held on Friday March 28th at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Services will be Saturday March 29th at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Toppenish at 11 am, followed by a celebration of Vicky’s life at the Toppenish Eagles.
