Verona Sundseth

Verona E. Sundseth, 89, of Yakima, WA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 2nd, 2020 at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital in Yakima. Verona was born November 5th, 1930 in Ulen MN to Henry and Helma Asleson. She married Joris (JD) Sundseth on February 14, 1969 in Moorehead, MN. They moved to Yakima in 1971. For many years, she was very involved and devoted to her church, Christ Lutheran. She served in Christ Lutheran Church as a Youth Group Leader, in the Women’s Group, and Stephen’s Ministry providing one-on-one care for individuals who request support. She also enjoyed visiting those that were home bound and not able to attend church. Her faith in God and her family were most precious to her. She was loved and cherished by all that had the good fortune to know her and was the quiet strength of the family. She touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by all. Verona is preceded in death by one daughter, Lee Ann Leasure, one granddaughter, Sara Mae Williams, her parents, Henry and Helma Asleson, seven brothers and two sisters. Verona is survived by her husband, JD, Children : Jean (Lynn), Robbie, Sherri (Shag), and Jason (Judy), Grandchildren: RaChelle and J Lynn (Jean), Tanis, Carson,Cheridan (Lee Ann), Tamika and Lance (Sherri) Greyson (Jason), and Great Grand Children: AnnaLee and Ruby (Tanis), Joslynn (Tamika), and Julian (Cheridan). Graveside services will be held on Saturday February 29th at Terrace Heights Memorial Park at 11:00am. A Luncheon to celebrate Verona's life will follow at Christ Lutheran Church. Memorials may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church, Fellowship Fund in Verona’s Honor.
