Vera Sayer

Vera Elaine (Siegel) Sayer, age 93, passed on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in Yakima WA. She was born at home on November 14, 1922 in Ft. Ripley, Minnesota to Paul and Mary Siegel. She graduated from Little Falls High School. She met, fell in love and married Walter Sterling Sayer in 1944. They came out west to Washington from Minnesota. This marriage brought two daughters, Sue Ann Roberts (Curtis) and Cindy Heitstuman (David). Vera was a homemaker in Granger for 65 years. Selling their home in 2012, they moved to Living Care Retirement Community in Yakima. Vera loved her Lord Jesus, her husband Sterling, her family and quilting. Vera was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Mary Siegel, brothers Norman, Leo, Leroy, Marvin and sister Patricia and one great granddaughter Michelle Lapierre. Vera is survived by her loving husband Sterling; daughters Sue Ann of Othello, Cindy of Spokane; one sister Laura Larson of Brainerd, Minnesota; grandchildren: Tami Lapierre of Yakima, Brad Roberts of Worley Idaho; and Samantha Heitstuman of Spokane; great grandchildren: Joseph, Amanda, Payton, and Cooper. Special thanks to the staff at Living Care for their loving care and support. Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm. Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Zillah Cemetery.
