Vera Vern Roderick, age 92, passed away quietly at Grandview Health Care Center on July 11, 2013. Her long awaited trip to heaven to be with her Savior and Lord was finally granted! She is now rejoicing with all of her family that have gone before her.
Born January 28, 1921 in Outlook, WA to Charles and May Roderick. She graduated from Sunnyside High School and began working at Washington CO-OP, where poultry was processed. Later she took employment with the Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District until her retirement.
Faithful and active to the Grace Brethren Church in Sunnyside her whole life she served as Sunday School Secretary. Sang in the choir and volunteered to serve in many capacities in preparing for kitchen duties at church functions. Always caring for people that were in need, she would make her pies, cookies, and her wonderful divinity and share it to lift their spirits. She faithfully took care of her mother, May Roderick until (at 92) she entered in the Nursing Home for more needed care.
Vera leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Gloria Bos Weber, Raymond Roderick, Warren Roderick, Leta Roderick Langholff, Barbara Roderick Barkley, and DiAnn Roderick Schutt.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and May Roderick, her siblings: Ralph Roderick, Leona Roderick Wright, Harold Roderick, Lois Roderick McDaniels, Blanche Roderick Bos, June Roderick and her nephew Vernon Bos.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday July 22, 2013 At Lower Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sunnyside WA. All arrangements are in care of Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
