Vera Easton

Vera Toland Easton of Yakima, WA passed away April 5, 2014. Vera was born in Trenton, Nebraska on July 25, 1918 to Chan and Ervilla Martin Toland. She received her education in Nebraska. Vera moved to the Yakima Valley with her family in 1938. She married Myrl A. Easton on Sept. 29, 1940. They enjoyed 73 years living, loving and working together on their farm in Zillah. Vera was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She loved children. She worked many years in Child Evangelism Good News Clubs and taught Sunday School. She was a volunteer in the RSVP program, enjoyed crafts and was a lifetime member of Country Garden Club. Vera retired from DelMonte Corporation after 26 years. Vera will be missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband Myrl of Yakima, daughter Joyce (Ron) Barnes of Zillah, daughter Connie Greenough of Moxee, son Stephen (Janet) Easton of Yakima, foster daughters, Diane Richeson, Yakima and Darlene Gillespie of Spokane,14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Merlyn Toland and Eldon Toland. The family would like to thank the Orchard Park Community and especially Vera's caregivers. We'd also like to thank Wayne and Edna Friedrich for their love and support. Visitation will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah April 10, 2014 from 12 to 5pm. Funeral services will be Friday, April 11 at 2 p.m. at the Zillah Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Zillah Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Union Gospel Mission or Zillah Church of the Nazarene. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
