Tyler Smith

January 15, 1970 — May 14, 2017

Tyler Harrison Smith came into this world on January 15th, 1970. He passed away un-expectantly on May 14, 2017. Tyler was a tech guy and could fix almost anything. He was a Star Wars fan since he was a little boy. He liked the outdoors and loved to travel. He liked going to New York and eating “mud bugs”. He enjoyed trying new and exotic foods. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always there when you needed him. His laugh was infectious. And he truly loved other people. He could cut a rug with the best of them and was always a “Sharp dressed man.” Tyler was kind, generous and had a great sense of humor. When he was a younger man he was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness’. Tyler was a cherished member of the East Valley Congregation. Tyler, like his family, believed that Jehovah will awaken those from their memorial tombs to new healthy bodies to be reunited with the people who love them and missed them. (Rev 21:3,4; John 5:28,29) Tyler is survived by his wife of 14 years Elpidia (Chavez) Smith of Yakima, His parents; Roy Spencer and Gaylen Smith of Yakima; his siblings, Damon (Jeanenne) Smith of Yakima and Kelley Smith of Seattle, Mother and Father-in-law, Marcos and Cherrie Chavez of Yakima, Brothers-in-Law Abraham Chavez of Yakima, and Marcos Chavez III of Seattle. Several Aunts and uncles and cousins. He was especially close to his aunts Glenda Godfrey and Rosalee Chavez. He was also close to his childhood, lifelong friend Roy Gordon. Services will be this Saturday at 1pm at the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, East Valley Congregation, 7003 Merias Road, Yakima WA 98901. Matthew 10:29 -31 “Have no fear, you are worth more than 2 sparrows..” We love you Tyler.
