Tyland John Glidewell, son of Johnnie and Melisa Glidewell (Tinker) was born in Yakima on July 12, 1996 and died on November 10, 2016 after saying he was “feeling broken” on November 9, 2016 at 8:21pm.
“I’m done with this insanity. I feel like I’m on the edge of falling to a point of no return. What do you do when you feel empty and completely alone? Talking doesn’t seem to help me. Therapists lie, and shrinks overload you on small issues. I could say I smoked pot two times in the last month and they would write down substance abuse. Who are they judging me, when they don’t know where I’ve come from and who I try so hard to be.”
He was born and raised in Yakima, Selah, and Gleed. He spent the last 8 years living with his older brother Tyson in the care of his grandmother, Carol Schorr.
Tyland was an avid gamer, spending hours and hours on Xbox. He loved the Halo games, the Call of Duty and Rainbow Six as well as countless other games. He was very skilled in computers and was a great resource to his family when their computers were on the fritz. He graduated from Naches High School in 2015 and entered the working world. He held various jobs, including Spinner Wood Products, Magic Metals, and most recently John I. Haas in Yakima. He enjoyed spending time with family and a few close friends listening to music at bonfires in Grandma’s backyard. He was an uncle to Atreyu and Payton and loved them dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father Johnnie Glidewell; grandmother Shirley Glidewell; uncle Dennis Stiles; and brother Derek Hobbs. He is survived by his mother Melisa (Thomas) Tinker; brother Tyson James Glidewell (Taby Spaugy); sister Latasha L. Glidewell (Jason Hammrich); brother Justin Asman (Ali); Grandmother Carol Schorr; uncles: David Glidewell, Jeffrey (Heather) Jones, Ron (Brenda) Stiles, Todd (Melissa) Stiles, Marty (Sammy) Stiles; and numerous cousins, nephews, and extended family.
