Trudy Wanda Pinkham (Kanishtah) passed away on Thursday October 6, 2022, at Yakima Washington with her daughters at her side. Trudy began her career as a graduate from YVCC: AA, Eastern Washington: BA, U of W: BA and W.S.U with her BA Degree in Forestry. YVCC, she was on President and Deans List. She had high work ethics and expectations with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She was one of the first female crew members for Helitec Fire Crew. She headed the project for the Blue Spruce Budworm. Trudy considered herself a true professional forester. She was highly well known and respected by her peers across Indian Country. Her background included many titles as Pageant Royalties and was also Miss Yakama Nation (1984), and Miss NCAI Queen. She was born on September 25, 1962 in Toppenish, Washington to Tallulah Tulee Pinkham and the late Joe Jay Pinkham. Trudy is survived by twin daughters Aspen C. Hayes (Tuppush) and Catriona T. Hayes (Alasheet). Trudy is survived by sister Idajo/Tony Maltos “Steven Burgess, Kenita Burgess,Kaiden Burgess, and Saul Burgess. Aimee Hernandez, Gabriel, Kyra, Nico, Karissa, Angelo Rocha, Kailani, Katalina Hernandez, and Grand-Niece Karina Rocha. Brother Joe Jay III/Marjorie Pinkham, Markeyta, Thomas Pinkham/Bridget Miller, Margaret and Cloud Pinkham. DoraLee/Rod Fitzpatrick, Ladee, Hillary/Bobby Burdeau, Noah and Trevor Burdeau, Michael/Davina Fitzpatrick, Laylah, McKenzie, Joe Jay Fitzpatrick. Glen/Yvette Pinkham, Cameron, Shanoa, and Dallas Pinkham. And brother Sandy Pinkham with daughter Kathleen Shippentower. With special sisters Rodeanna Cowapoo, Karen Pinkham, and Pisco Crew. Julie Saluskin & family, Monica Roy & family, MinnieJo Pimms & family, Kerma Greene, Lori Hoptowit, Jeannie Smiskin, Geanna Northover, stepdaughter Kristin Skahan, Dora Ganuelas, Cara Briggs, Catriona Kruse, Cathy Begay, Thelma Alsup, and Rose Castilleja. She is survived by her aunts Geraldine Pinkham Miller and children Dana, Miles, and Portia/Joe Shields, Claudia Pinkham Williams & family. Uncles Irving Pinkham, Juliane Pinkham, Blackstone/Joyce Pinkham. And survived by Mr. and Mrs. Larry and Jackie Tulee & family from Santa Clara CA. She will be missed by many. Services: Dressing Ceremony at Toppenish Longhouse at 2:00 PM Saturday October 8 followed by overnight services and dinner. Saturday October 8 Rosary services at Toppenish Longhouse, followed by Longhouse services. Burial Monday October 10 leave at sunrise to Satus Point Cemetery.
