Tony Leo Heredia “Popcorn” Sunrise: 5-2-1951 Sunset: 5-19-2018 Tony Heredia of Toppenish passed away May 19, 2018. He was born in Seattle, WA to Isaac Sampson and Irene Smartlowit. He graduated from Perry Technical College for carpentry, built houses and worked at Yakama Forest Products for many years. He also worked at the Eagles and Legends Casino. He was a champion pool player. In his younger years he enjoyed softball. He is survived by his children, Melissa, Tony Jr. (Curtis), David, Darice and Sasha; siblings, Darrel Sampson, Sandra Umtuch, Eric Sampson, Monica Smartlowit, and Caroline Stahi; stepchildren, Cynthia Caldera, Archie Lawrence, Raphael Caldera; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, great grandchildren and cousins. He was preceded in death by wife, Althea “Blondie” Mitchell Heredia, (Ullah) Alice Wahpat; mother, Irene Smartlowit, (father) Issac Sampson, (brother) Leon Sampson. Dressing services will be held at 3:00pm Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Wapato Longhouse. Burial will be held at 8:00am Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Toppenish Creek Cemetery in White Swan.
