THELMA ESTELLE COLE, aged 89, passed away peacefully Feb. 16, 2024, in Wapato, WA. She was born Nov. 27, 1934, in Smyrna, Tenn to Harvey and Eva Hester. Estelle was a devoted wife to Howard Cole for over 72 years and the loving, encouraging and supportive mother of five children; Lucille McCord; James Cole (Marcella), Gail Clements, Vicki Truex (Pat) and Lee (aka Harvey) Cole (Kimberlie). She also has the honor of being the grandmother to 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Aunt Stelle to numerous nieces and nephews, she is survived by her husband, children and siblings, Margarette Hale, Judee Hester, and Steve Hester (Yvette). She had a deep love for butterflies and elephants, canning and sewing, all her family and most of all for her Jesus who equipped her to love without condition and shower grace and mercy with anyone whom she came in contact. She dedicated her time to performing the treasury ministry at the First Baptist Church of Wapato for many years. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Feb. 21, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, 151 W. Wapato Road. The viewing will be from 4 - 7 p.m. Feb. 20, 2024 at Valley Hills Funeral Home, 218 W. 3rd Street in Wapato. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in memoriam sent to her home church, the First Baptist Church of Wapato. Please join us in celebrating Estelle’s life at the memorial service, where we will remember her enduring spirit and the joy she brought and shared with us all.
