Terry Zapien

Terry Manuel Zapien, was born on May 17,1982, In Yakima, Wa, to Ray and Colleen Zapien. Terry passed away August 29, 2023, at 41 years old, he was surrounded by family and friends. Terry grew up in Zillah, WA, attended and graduated from Zillah High School. He was an exceptional athlete, where he excelled in wrestling and was Washington State Wrestling Champ in 2000. After high school he attended Big Bend Community College. Terry met Evonne Bernal and fell in love. They raised a beautiful family together. with 2 boys and 3 girls, for the last 18 years. Terry was the last of 4 children, and forever referred to as the baby. Being the last born, he had a very easy life. He was laid back and loved to keep people laughing, while he turned everything into a joke. He would make you laugh when least expected. Terry was a very loving father leaving behind 2 handsome sons, and 3 beautiful daughters, whom he loved with his whole heart. He was very active in their lives and instilled athleticism in them. Terry and Evonne followed those girls everywhere, showing how proud of them they are. He loved spending time at O'Sullivan with family and friends. He was also a pet lover with many dogs, cats and farm animals. Terry has left many loved ones behind. Out hearts are broken, as he was taken way too soon. We still had a lifetime together. We may not understand, but God has a plan for everyone. Terry was preceded in death by his father Ray Zapien, grandparents Claude and Ruby Phillips, Manuel and Sarah Zapien and his dog Chico (LOL) Terry was survived by his spouse Evonne Bernal, step sons Nathan York, Nick York, daughters Cassie Zapien, Zoey Zapien, Raelynn Zapien. His mother Colleen Zapien, brothers Bobby Zapien, Dean Zapien, Gus ( Christine) Zapien, sister Michelle (Andrew) Dominguez, in-laws Jesus and Shirley Bernal and numberous pieces & nephews. Services will be held at Valley Hills funeral home in Zillah on, Sunday September 10,2023 viewing from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Christian Worship Center in Zillah, Wa at 4 pm. A potluck will be held at the Zillah Civic Center, which will be open before the funeral for food drop off.
