Tangi Lynn Nelsen, 54, of Selah passed away on September 28, 2013 at Cottage in the Meadow. Tangi was born on a Tuesday, November 25, 1958 at the Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. She moved to Selah 27 years ago where she lived for the remainder of her life. She worked at the C.M. Holtzinger fruit company for over 21 years and she appreciated all of her co-workers very much.
In her spare time, Tangi loved doing her yard work to perfection and afterwards having a nice cold beer. “There won’t be a dandelion in Heaven”. She had a few favorite TV programs that she loved to watch with her family…Little House on the Prairie, the Walton’s, Wipeout, and True TV. She had the kindest heart. She was always willing to cook up one of her good meals for family and friends. In 2010 she learned that she had stage 4 breast cancer and she fought like hell with the help of her friends and family and she had special help from her daughter Chanelle who stayed by her side for the last 3 years. “ I was her angel, and now she is mine.”
She is survived by her parents Erwin and Roberta Strawn of Yakima, three siblings, two daughters, both of Selah, Chanelle Surginer and Heather Kielhorn, four grandchildren that she was so proud of and loved with all her heart, Blaine, Tristan, Isaac and Riley.
She wanted us to thank everyone who helped and encouraged her along the way and a special thanks to her best friend Mona. Donations can be made to Cottage in the Meadow or One Life Family Worship in Yakima.
Memorial Services will be held Friday October 4 at 1pm at the One Life Family Worship in Yakima with potluck dinner after. That evening at 8pm we are meeting at the Past Time in Selah to celebrate her memory the way that she wanted us to.
