Tallulah T. Pinkham
“Cawmit”
On Tuesday February 6, 2024, Tallulah peacefully passed away surrounded by her family. She was born on August 28th, 1932 at Wishram. She graduated top of her class at Chemawa Indian Boarding School where shortly after she attended Haskell University in Lawerence Kansas. She was recognized by the University of Washington for her career as a Social Worker.
She advocated for patients at Indian Health Services for 23 years, meeting with individuals and connect with them on a human so she could help connect them to the services and programs they needed. She encouraged patients to learn the traditions of their culture and family to find connection to find purpose in their lives. When Cawmit saw the generational destruction that comes from domestic violence and child abuse she worked behind the scenes through the Native Women Association to support the Child Welfare Act. She was a starter for the Care bears organization. She was also Sargeant of Arms on the General Council for several years.
She is survived by daughter Ida Jo Pinkham Maltos & husband Tony Maltos. Her brother Larry (Jackie) Tulee, their children Brian and Duane Tulee. Children Aimee Hernadez with her children Gabriel Rocha, Santana Rocha, Kyra Rocha, Karissa Rocha, Angelo Rocha, Kaylonnie Hernadez, & Catlina Hernadez. Grand children Ariana Quiroz Rocha and Karynna Rocha-Ornales. Son Steven Burgess with children Kenita Burgess, Kaiden Burgess and Saul Burgess.
Son Joe Jay Pinkham 3rd with wife Marjorie Pinkham and children Thomas Pinkham with children Margaret Pinkham and Cloud Pinkham. And daughter Markeyta Pinkham.
Daughter Dora Lee Fitzpatrick and husband Rodney Fitzpatrick. Children Ladee Fitzpatrick, Son Michael Fitzpatrick his children Laylah Fitzpatrick, McKenzie Fitzpatrick, & JoeJay Fitzpatrick. Daughter Hillary Fitzpatrick is survived by husband Willam Burdeau and children Noah Burdeau and Trevor Burdeau.
Glen Pinkham & wife Yvette Pinkham. Children Cameron Pinkham, Shanoa Pinkham & Dallas Pinkham.
Daughter Trudy Pinkham is survived by daughters Aspen Hayes and Catriona Hayes.
Son Sandy Pinkham and daughter Kathleen Shippentower.
