Susan Marie Looney Moses “Nawyatush,” age 65, passed Monday, April 23, 2018 at her Wapato home. Susan was born to Wilkins Looney Sr. and Eva Marie Yallup Looney on January 19th, 1954 in Toppenish, WA. Susan grew up in the Satus area and attended Chemawa Boarding School and Haskell University. She worked for the YNPD for 27 years as a dispatcher and retired in the early 2000s. Susan married her high school sweetheart John Moses Sr. January 1st, 1974, and they raised their family in Wapato, WA. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Chemawa, Haskell, drying fish, drying corn, cha-li, she loved bingo and the casino, berry picking, watching the Seahawks and Seattle Mariners, bead working, watching Investigation Discovery, reading mystery books, pow wows and she enjoyed watching her children play sports. She also played softball and basketball. Susan was preceded in death by her mother Eva Yallup Looney Shippentower, her father Wilkins Looney Sr., her daughter Kristen Faith Moses, Clifford & Betty, Nelson Moses, Ella Mae Looney, Alice Looney, Jimmy Looney, Wanda Looney, Anthony Wesley, Carl Moses Sr., and Sidney Hunt. Susan is survived by her husband John Moses Sr., her children Shawna Moses and Brian Walker of Wapato, WA, John Moses Jr. & Mariam Moses of Yakima, WA, Dacia Tribe of Wapato, WA, Jeremiah Moses of Wapato, WA, and Morgan Moses of Wapato, WA her brothers Oscar Looney, Bobby Looney (Elveda), Eagle Looney and Alwin Looney, her sisters Mary (Kenny) McCloud and Caroline Looney (Gerald) and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be a dressing Wednesday, April 25th, 2018, 10 AM at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato, WA. Washat services overnight at 451 Osborn Rd. in Wapato, WA. Overnight services will be Thursday, April 26th, 2018 at Independent Shaker church in White Swan, WA. Burial will be Friday April 27th, 2018 after 5 AM Garmet service to the Wishcum Cemetery in Dallesport, WA.
