Steven Joseph Rohrich passed away on April 30, 2025, at the age of 71. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, creative soul, and a man who faced life’s challenges with resilience and humor.
Born on November 18, 1953, Steven lived a full and varied life. In his younger years he enjoyed water skiing-even on a ski he made with his father. He held many careers over the years, but was especially proud of his work at Boeing. He held a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and had a lifelong love for working with his hands and his heart—whether he was designing an outdoor space, drawing, being Mr. Fix-It, or cooking his favorite meal-barbecued chicken. Steven had an affectionate heart for all animals, from tiny hamsters and fish to backyard chickens (which turned out to be roosters) and his cats Thumper and Lucky.
Steven loved being outside and creating beauty in the world around him. He was passionate, caring, and had a gift for making others laugh with his light-hearted, sometimes unserious spirit. He overcame many obstacles in his life and was proud to have beaten prostate cancer in 2024 with the help of the staff at North Star Lodge.
He is survived by his children: Myriah Roberts (Michael Roberts), Jayelle Fuller (Trent Fuller), and Jay Robinson; his beloved granddaughter Capri, who brought him immense joy; his siblings, Mike Rohrich and Connie Riggle; his aunt, Beverly Miller; and many others who loved him deeply. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Francis Rohrich and Betty Julia Rohrich.
Steven’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and by his architectural contributions in the Yakima Valley. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
