Steven Dolan

Steven Dolan, age 70, passed away on June 2, 2023 at Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Steven Trent Dolan was born on January 5th, 1953 in Yakima to Robert and Lois (Richmond) Dolan. He was the 3rd of 8 children born to the couple. He spent his childhood and teen years with his family in the Yakima area. In 1971, Steven enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until 1975. He was assigned to the U.S.S White Plains and U.S.S Chicago. While on these 2 ships, he learned the Culinary Arts and especially enjoyed time spent serving in Japan. After completing his service, Steven returned home, attended YVC, and then graduated from the Culinary Arts Program at J.M. Perry Institute. He cooked at Nursing Homes in the area and was also the Manager at Kempers Drive In. Several years later, circumstances led Steven in a different direction because of the family's health of both parents. He focused his attention on helping to give his parent's loving care. After the passing of his parent's, Steven became a certified caregiver, and cared for many clients including his sister Kathy. He retired in 2016 because of his own health problems. The next few years were spent hanging out with his family as well as reading and watching show's about History, Mysteries and Westerns. Steven also enjoyed chatting about the "old days", politics or catching us up on the latest news from phone conversations with our cousins. But most of all he loved spending time at home and being entertained by the light of his life, his great-niece Kaydence. He sure did love playing games with her, listening to her stories or just enjoying her goofy and endearing antics. She always knew how to make Steven smile. Steven was trying very hard to make it back home from the hospital to his beloved family. He is survived by his sister's Debbie and Kathy, nephew Zachary, who was his primary caregiver, Niece Amie who gave assistance to his care and her daughter Kaydence. His great-nephew Jacob Dolan-Fear and his father Chris. Uncle Delbert and Aunt Marsha Richmond as well as numerous cousins. Steven was preceded in Death by both parents, sister's Barbara and Sandra Dolan and his brother's Ray, Keith, and Mike Dolan as well as several Aunt's, Uncle's and cousin's. The family will has a small gathering at a later date to celebrate the life of our beloved and much missed Brother and Uncle. Sweet Dreams. Rest in Peace.
