Sofia Nicacio

Sofia Guizar Nicacio 77 of Grandview passed away July 11, 2016. She was born in La Jolla, Michoacan Mexico to Panfilo Guizar and Carmen Lopez. She was raised in Mexico where she married Cecileo Cardenas in 1957. They moved to Washington in 1972 doing field work and working in a restaurant. Sofia had five children: Alberto Cardenas, Graciela Cardenas, Miguel Cardenas, Abel Cardenas, and Rosa C. Olneda. In 1986 Sofia married Pete Nicacio and they resided in Grandview. Sofia liked to write songs, sing, play the guitar, but most of all she loved to have her family visit her and enjoy meals together. Sofia is preceded in death by her father; Panfilo Guizar, siblings: Elena Guizar, Maria Guizar and Elia Guizar. Husband; Pete Nicacio, children; Miguel Guizar, Alberto Cardenas and nephew Javier Guizar. She is survived by her mother; Carmen Lopez, children; Graciela Cardenas, Abel Cardenas and Rosa C. Olneda. Siblings; Manuel(Aurelia) Guizar, Luis(Conception) Guizar, Marcelino (Yolle) Guizar, and one special companion; Juan Cruz. Viewing and visitation will be held 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm Monday July 18, 2016 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview followed by graveside services at the Mabton City Cemetery.
