“ALAWITZIO” Sidney Timothy Owens 56 Years Old of Harrah WA, passed away on October 23, 2017. Sidney was born in Toppenish on June 19, 1961 to Lena Sohappy and was influenced greatly by his grandparents, Frank and Julia Sohappy. He grew up knowing, “love one another, help one another.” He was a fancy dancer with his cousins. He loved football, baseball, basketball, and footraces with cousins when he was younger, and teasing the chickens, horses and cows, and tetherball. He was the Tetherball champ! He always had a big heart, big love for all family. Sidney was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation and went to White Swan High School, class of ‘79. After high school he married the love of his life Pamela J. Sanchey & moved to Glendwood, Washington for work. He would open his home to family that went thru Glenwood for gathering. He then went on to truck driving school in Oregon. He was employed with Tiin-Ma Logging Company as a devoted logging truck driver and heavy equipment operator for several years. He loved to read the Yakima Herald newspaper, watch M.A.S.H., play word games and cheer for the Seahawks but baseball has always been his passion, from playing the game to coaching it. He played in numerous softball & basketball tournaments all over the northwest. He was an everyday practical joker, sarcasm was his favorite language and he always had a nickname for everyone he befriended. Sid was a wonderful friend, devoted husband and most importantly a loving father and grandfather. He was always someone you could talk to and just vent to about your day. He had an excellent work ethic and was very punctual. He is survived by FAMILY everyone in his life was considered family, many many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, his loving wife Pamela Owens, his daughters, Hilary A. Owens, Heidi A. Iniguez, Haley A. Owens; his sons’ Heath A. Owens, and Jose Iniguez and his grandchildren Delilah T. Iniguez, Ivree I. Owens, and Priya T. Iniguez.
