Shirley Padilla

It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother Shirley (Herrera) Padilla at the age of 94 on October 26, 2022. She was born on July 30, 1928, in Casper, Wyoming. She later moved with her family to Washington State in 1941. She married Salvador Padilla in Toppenish, Washington on November 7, 1953. This upcoming anniversary would have marked their 69th year married. Shirley was a homemaker, and her priority was her family. She was a faithful, lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, Washington. Her favorite animal was the hummingbird. She is preceded in death by her brothers John and Joe Herrera, and sisters Henrietta Alvarez and Mary Leija. She is survived by her husband, Salvador Padilla, and two sisters, her twin, Ramona DelVillar, and Ruth Juarez. She is also survived by three children, Salvador Padilla, Jr. (Joan Becker), Richard Padilla, and Caroline Elliott (Kevin), along with three beloved grandchildren, Chelsie, Megan, and Jared Elliott. A Memorial Service will be held on November 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home - Sunnyside, 531 S. 16th St., Sunnyside, WA, with a reception to follow.
