Sharon Lea Pottenger
YAKIMA - Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Sharon Lea Pottenger went to be with her Lord and Savour, Jesus Christ, with her children at her side Wednesday morning, January 11, 2023. Sharon was born in Tacoma, WA. December 19, 1943.
Sharon grew up in the Yakima Valley and attended Davis High School. Sharon met the love of her life, Bob, they married in May of 1961 and spent the next 50 years together.
Sharon lived and truly modeled what it looked like to love Jesus, love her family and love people. She had a special way of making everyone whom she met feel loved and accepted.
She loved to share with people the love of Jesus and spent countless hours mentoring new believers and was active leading bible studies over the past 40 years. Up until the day she passed she was preparing for her weekly bible study with her group of ladies.
Sharon was the most amazing grandmother to our children and grand babies. She had a way of making each one them feel greatly loved and cherished.
Sharon was best known for her loving heart, care and compassion for people and her love for the Word of God. It was her passion to share and model the love of Christ with all whom she came into contact with.
In 1976, her and her husband Bob started B & C Sewing & Vacuum which to this day continues to serve the valley with all of its sewing and floor care needs.
Sharon loved life to the fullest and enjoyed her family and numerous family trips to the beach and traveling, serving and ministering with her husband Bob
Sharon is preceded in death by her father & mother Willard & Violet Evans her husband Bob Pottenger & sister in-law Cindy Evans.
She is survived by her Brother Pat Evans, son Rob & Kim Pottenger, daughter Lori and Scott Rainford, daughter Shannon and Steve Miller, seven grandkids, ten great grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews (and the bun in the oven).
A celebration of mom’s life will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023, 11:00 am at Christian Life Center, located at 716 N. 40th Avenue. A Reception Will Follow. The family asks that all flowers and notes be sent to Christian Life Center.
