Sharida Jean Roybal, 70, of Zillah, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Toppenish, WA on December 18 of 1948 to Wanda and Jim Seggessar.
Sharida attended school in Toppenish, WA where she later met her husband Jerry Roybal Sr. at a New Year’s party. Sharida and Jerry were inseparable from the day they met and spent 54 wonderful years of marriage together. They wed in 1965 at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Zillah, WA. Together they had three sons, Jerry Jr., Brian, and Joshua. Sharida has six grandchildren, Sonny, Brittney, Derek Colton Hanson, Bradyn, Ryat Roybal, and Hunter Bonds. Sharida also has two great-granddaughters, Haidyn and Adisyn Reese. Sharida loved all her family and maintained close relationships with her nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives. She has three siblings, Jackie Kukes in Missouri, and two brothers, James David and Shawn who passed away before her.
Sharida faithfully attended the Catholic Resurrection Church of Zillah for over 50 years and served in many areas of the church. Sharida’s passion and calling in life was her desire to help others. She lived out that calling by graciously and voluntarily serving her community at the Zillah Food Bank for 27 years. She lived an open handed life and did her best to give to those in need. Those that knew Sharida knew she was a woman of many interest and hobbies. She collected 45 records and loved playing them on her jukebox in her 50-60’s memorabilia room.
She loved vacationing at the beach with her family, yard sales, thrift shopping and collecting antiques. She loved Halloween and is known for her hand made decor she made every year.
Sharida was as unique as her name, one of a kind, and is deeply missed by her family and close friends.
Per Sharida’s request no services will be held. Any donations and contributions in Sharida’s name may be made to your local food bank.
