Shar Smith-Ingram

December 28, 1945 — October 8, 2013

Shar - don’t call me Sharlain - B. Smith-Ingram December 28, 1945 - October 8, 2013 Shar went home after a brief battle with cancer Tuesday afternoon. She left behind numerous family members and friends. She left behind her husband and friend, Jerry Ingram. Shar raised three sons and a daughter of her own; Roger, Ron, Richie, and Rebecca. She instilled the power of fascination, family, food, and fear. We all have fond and irreplaceable memories of home made soups and riding our bikes from Moxee to Selah to have The Works Omelet at “Norma Jeans,” the best restaurant of all time. When the place was full - and it usually was - Shar would squeeze you in with a group of strangers and by the time your meal was finished you all left as friends. That’s the way Shar went through life, making friends, and every day a bit brighter. Those who knew Shar loved her and those who didn’t missed out on a great treasure. There was no filter or grey area with Shar, a respectful trait that few have the courage to obtain. She loved her husband, Jerry, her home, her garden, and having a cold refreshment after a hard days work. She still loved her ponies and would give us two out of three on the trifecta at the drop of a hat. Shar Ingram was truly one of a kind and the world is a little less bright without her. Shar wanted no fuss or funeral upon her departure, but we will have a celebration of her full life in the following weeks. Share your memories of Shar online at www.valleyhillsfh.com.
