It is with sadden hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend Shane Patrick Bennett.
Shane Patrick Bennett was born on June 9, 1963, in Yakima, WA., to Suzanne Miller and Kenneth Bennett. Shane died unexpectedly on August 13, 2024, in the loving care of the staff at Gleed Orchard Manor in Naches, WA.
Shane had a passion for model airplanes, cars and boats. He loved putting them together and displaying them. Shane loved to shop for those models as well as for coins and books. Christmas was Shane’s favorite time of year. This was a magical time of year for him. He looked forward to spending time with friends and family as well as the magic and tradition that was associated with Christmas.
One of Shane’s greatest accomplishments was being a member of the dojo of Sensei Morris Mack at the Yakima School of Karate. Here, Shane achieved the very coveted brown belt which he worked very diligently for.
Those left to cherish and honor the memory of Shane is his mother Suzie and stepfather Joe Grubb; his sister Heidi and husband Terry Boehmler; brother’s Brian Bennett, Joshua and wife Jennifer Grubb; several nieces and nephews as well as many beloved friends.
A viewing will be held for Shane on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights with a graveside service to follow at 1:30 pm at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima.
