Sergio Isaiah Guzman, beloved son, brother, cousin and friend, lost his battle with Leukemia but gained his wings to heaven!
My son graduated from Richland High School in 2013, a year ahead of his class, and began pursuing his college degree in the medical field before his diagnosis. He was a very, very smart kid and loved his family very much. His dream was to become a Doctor, but when he was diagnosed with leukemia, he decided to pursue nursing, instead. Sergio was always aware of his medications and treatments, and at times would correct his own nurses, a quality we loved in him, his stubbornness.
In his short time with us, he lived his life to the fullest. He was so fearless and adventurous, traveling all over the West Coast. My baby boy was so full of life, always smiling, being silly and of course rolling his eyes at you! He loved to go to the beach, hike, shop, and like any other child, he was always on his cell phone.
Sergio Isaiah is survived by his parents: Jamie Escobar & Federico Rodriguez, J Sergio and Erica Guzman; Grandparents: Josie & Jay Garrison, Tom & Melisa Escobar, Sergio & Carmen Guzman. Siblings: Bianca & Lorenzo Alvarado, Elijah & Yeshua Guzman, his good friend Sonja Saenz and various uncles, aunts cousins and friends.
I would like to thank all the staff from SCCA clinic and UW, for the care and love they showed my son and our family.
Services will be held Saturday April 23rd at 3 pm at Freedom Foursquare Church 16 S. 6th Ave. Yakima WA
