SanJuana Villarreal

Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of SanJuana Villarreal, who was called home by God on September 2, 2025. Born on September 23, 1946, in LaFeria, Texas, SanJuana was a daughter of Crisanto and Concepcion Cantu. Her journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone around her.

On February 25, 1970, SanJuana married the love of her life, Armando Villarreal, in Edinburg, Texas. Just two months later, they embarked on a new adventure, moving to Washington, where they established their home and lovingly raised their son, Armando Villarreal Jr. Her son was truly the light of her life, and their bond was immeasurable.

SanJuana was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Crisanto and Concepcion Cantu, her sister Corina Mireles, and her two brothers, Raul Cantu and Elisandro Cantu, all of whom she cherished deeply.

For thirty years, SanJuana dedicated herself to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Prosser Long Term Care, until her well-deserved retirement in 2009. Her compassion and commitment left a lasting impact on countless lives. Beyond her professional life, SanJuana was a devout member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she faithfully served as a lector, sharing her faith with the community.

SanJuana embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She found immense pleasure in the simple things: cooking delicious meals, dancing with abandon, creating beautiful textiles through knitting and crocheting, and the thrill of a visit to the casino. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her beloved husband, Armando, creating a lifetime of cherished memories.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and family. SanJuana is survived by her devoted son, Armando Villarreal, and his loving wife, Corina. She was a proud grandmother to two grandsons, Elijah and his wife Kassandra, and Isaiah and his wife Malissa. Her heart swelled with pride for her five beautiful great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy into her life. SanJuana is also survived by her brother, Crisanto Jr., and his wife Frances, and her sister, Ruby Maria Cantu, who resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It broke our hearts to lose you, SanJuana; you did not go alone. A part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us with a treasure trove of beautiful memories, and your love will forever be our guiding light. SanJuana touched so many lives because she was truly a caring and beautiful person, inside and out. Her warmth, generosity, and loving spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
