Devoted Wife, Mother and Friend. Sandra Eileen Tenbusch, 53, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 27, 2014. She died peacefully with her family by her side in Yakima, Washington. Sandy was born July 23, 1961, in Prosser, Washington to William and Margaret Bender. She graduated from Prosser High School and then continued to YVCC for her licensed practical nursing degree. She was an active parent in West Valley’s Marching Band Program as well as West Valley’s Softball Program. Sandy was proud to be awarded the Golden Acorn Award for her many volunteer hours at Mountain View Elementary's PTSA. Known for her energy and dedication to her family, Sandy enjoyed gardening, camping, crafting, cooking and being at the beach with family. She never met an animal she didn't like, and was famous for taking in strays and giving them a loving home. Sandy worked hard to keep a pantry full of home-preserved food to share with all who crossed her path. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife and friend. She is survived by her husband, Dan Tenbusch, and her children, Daniel (Jessica) Bender, Margaret Tenbusch, Christopher Tenbusch, Berlinda Black, and Danny Tenbusch Jr. Sandy is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Brothers Jim and Jerry Bender and Sisters Beverly Goble and Debbie Crites. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents William and Margaret Bender, as well as her granddaughter, Shianne Bender. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 3, from 2-7 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4 at 1 p.m. at Breakthrough Church, 1705 W. Chestnut, Yakima, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandy's name to Valley Hills Funeral Home. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
