Sandra Sheets

December 12, 1949 — June 25, 2022

Sandra (Sandy) Mae Sheets born December 12th, 1949, to Orbu and Etta Sheets of Toppenish, WA. Passed away Saturday June 25th peacefully at home after a brief illness. In her early years Sandy loved to play in many local leagues, including softball, billiards, bowling, and darts. Her softball team where she was fast and furious shortstop with a wicked arm, included her sisters, mother, sister-in-law and close friends. When not playing in these leagues, she worked alongside Brother Ron at his garage. Anyone who knew Sandy she was a jack of trades; she could do just about anything and was always helping others with troubleshooting, building, and repairing. Sandy was part plumber, electrician, and builder. Sandy retired from Zillah School District after 15 years of service as Head Custodian. She was admired by Faculty, Administrators and Students. After retiring you could find Sandy at her computer researching just about everything, while sneaking in countless hours playing games and of course she had to have her cigarette and Pepsi in hand. Her nephews Tyler and Dillan were just like children to her. When she became a great aunt to Aidain and Emma, her life was complete: she spent most of her time with them. Family was very important to her, and she was extremely close to her mother, sister and brother. A couple of special family/friend events were watching the Zillah Community Days parade followed by a family barbecue at her home. Christmas Eve with all the family was another special time to her. Sandy was a longstanding member of the Toppenish Eagles Auxiliary as well as the American Legion. Proceeded in death by Father Orby, Mother Etta and brother-in-law Bill Wyckoff. She is survived by her sisters Sharon (Sid) Harris, Cheryl Wyckoff and Brother Ron (Elean) Sheets. She is also survived by Many Nieces, Nephews and many Great Nieces and Nephews. A viewing to pay respects and say goodbyes will be at Zillah Valley Hills Funeral Home between hours of 3-4PM on Wednesday June 29th. A Celebration of Life for Family and Friends to be announced at a future date. Special Thanks to Dr's, Nurses, Respiratory and Staff at Toppenish Memorial Hospital ER, ICU, Respiratory for the Excellent Care they provided for our Sister Sandy. Would also like to acknowledge the Zillah Fire Department, EMT's, Zillah Mortuary as they were very professional, thoughtful, kind and courteous. A Special thanks to Crystal Turner who was our rock during this difficult time. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Sandra Sheets, please visit our flower store.
