In Loving Memory of Salome Gamboa

In loving Memory of Salome “Sally” Gamboa October 22, 1934 – April 11, 2026

As we lay Salome Gamboa to rest, we hold close the beautiful memories she gave us each one like a flower in a garden she so lovingly tended.

Born in Littlefield, Texas, on October 22, 1934, Salome lived a life rooted in love, devotion, and quiet strength. On April 11, 2026, she was called to the pearly gates, leaving behind a legacy that will live on in all who knew her.

Today, we find comfort in knowing she has reunited in heaven with her true love, Pepito. Their love story, spanning over 50 years of marriage, was one of deep connection and unwavering partnership. They showed us what it means to love fully inseparable, enduring, and pure.

Her home was always open, her heart even more so. Though we may no longer gather for her warm, comforting Tex-Mex meals, we will forever remember the smell of her fresh tortillas and the way she always had something ready for anyone who walked through her door. Feeding others was her love language, and she did it so effortlessly.

Salome was a hardworking and resilient woman. Over the years, she dedicated herself to many roles field work, warehouse work, childcare, and creating beautiful knitted dresses and handmade pieces. There was nothing she couldn’t do with her hands, and everything she made carried a piece of her care and spirit.

Her love extended deeply to her family. She took on the responsibility of caring for her siblings with grace and strength, and now she is reunited with them once again, Ines Cantu and Manuela Mireles as well as her father & mother Eustacio Cantu & Nicolasa Vasquez Cantu.

She found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. Her garden was her sanctuary, and her roses were a reflection of her gentle touch—always blooming, always admired. Her yard was known as the most beautiful on the block, a true testament to her patience and love for nature.

Moses Lake was her home, but her heart was never far from Pasco and Mabton, where she spent cherished time with her sisters. Together, they created memories filled with laughter, especially during their beloved yard sale days.

Salome had a heart of gold. Her love was constant, her presence comforting, and her words unforgettable. For many of us, one of the most treasured memories we will carry is hearing her say, “I love you more” a phrase that will echo in our hearts forever.

She is lovingly survived by her sisters, Maria Teresa Cantu, Petra Cantu, and Basicilla Rodriguez, along with many family members and loved ones who will continue to carry her memory forward.

Though she is no longer with us physically, her love, her lessons, and her warmth will remain with us always.

Rest in peace, Sally. Your garden continues to bloom in all of us.
