Sally Schwartz

January 5, 1927 — February 18, 2015

Outlook, Washington – Sally Beverly Schwartz passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, (exactly 14 years to the day that her beloved husband Charlie, had died), surrounded by her family. Sally was born in her Seattle home on January 5, 1927 to Ernest and Ethel (Farmer) Morris the youngest of three girls. Sally was a smart and athletic High School graduate. She met her husband Charles “Charlie” Schwartz and married him on December 21, 1948 in Seattle. Their first son, Ernie was born in 1950 and shortly thereafter in order to split the distance between their mothers in Seattle and Moscow Idaho they bought a grape farm in the Yakima Valley where their second son Joe was born in 1951. After 52 years of marriage Charlie passed away and Sally remained on their farm the rest of her life. Their home became an immutable anchor, a source of love, and memories to all their friends and family over the years. Sally loved the outdoors whether it was huckleberry picking, camping, or sitting outside under a shade tree. She was a very social person who enjoyed visiting with anyone, but had very close friends to include those from her local TOPS group. Survivors include her two sons: Ernie (Shanna) Schwartz, and Joe (Kathy) Schwartz, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special “daughter”, Norma Miner. Sally will be remembered for her caring spirit, tireless hard work, enviable baking skills, and the ability to make anyone with whom she inter-acted feel like the most important person to her. Viewing and visitation will be held 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday February 20, 2015 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. A Traditional Horse drawn Hearse procession to Graveside services will be held with services starting at 12:00 noon Saturday February 21, 2015 at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to your local Humane Society or Saint Jude’s Children Hospital. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in care of all arrangements.
