Ruth Gordon

Ruth Ellen Gordon went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday October 6, 2013 with family by her side as she wished. Ruth was born June 19, 1918 to Mamie and Albert Sidenstricker in Commerce, Oklahoma. On October 7, 1934 she married Claude E. Gordon Sr. Ruth was a homemaker and she raised 9 children. She loved her children and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, sewing, crocheting and reading. She loved to reminisce about her family and childhood memories along with singing her favorite songs. She was a member of the Zillah Baptist Church. She enjoyed gathering the children of the church and taking them to the monthly skating parties and youth rallies. Ruth is survived by 8 children, Claudia Kandle and Don of Las Cruses, NM; Steve Gordon of Richland, WA; Ron Gordon of Prosser; Jack & Debbie Gordon of Hoquiam, WA; Kent Gordon of Danville, AR; June & John Reyes of Celaya, Mexico; Carol and Greg Boutain Sr. of Zillah, WA; Claude Gordon Jr. of Moxee, WA; 34 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Naomi Bunces, husband Claude Gordon Sr. and daughter Rutheleene Anderson and daughter in law Joan Gordon, grandson Jeff Gordon, great grand daughter Jessica Petty, and great grandson Carter W. Rouse. Our family wants to send a special thank you to her dear friend and caregiver Linda Kulhavy, Yakima Regional Home Health, Robin Hudson and Michelle Merrifield. A memorial service will be held at the Zillah Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 12, 2013. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
