Ruby Irene Dolliver took the Lords hand and peacefully entered eternity on December 19, 2013.
Born March 3, 1914 to Arthur & Elizabeth Bierig, Ruby was one of five children raised on the family farm in Richardton, North Dakota. Life on the farm during the Great Depression was not an easy life, but the family worked hard and Ruby told stories of many joyful times and always expressed her love for her family.
Ruby Bierig married Ross Dolliver in 1932 and soon their daughter Evelyn was born. They traveled with other family members arriving in the Yakima Valley in 1937. In 1942 with the help of brother-in-law, Everett Dolliver they built the Dolliver Garage; now known as the White Pass Garage on Fruitvale Boulevard. Ross and Ruby worked at the garage together building a successful business and their life was good.
Tragically widowed at the age of 34, Ruby became a single mother. With Evelyn by her side and sheer determination Ruby sold the Dolliver Garage and eventually went to work for Sears & Roebuck where she would remain for the next 28 years, retiring in 1974. Ruby was able to travel throughout her life with family and friends to many destinations around the world. Her adventurous spirit led her to the Holy Lands, on numerous cruises, and many trips across the US. Travel was a joy.
Ruby was a long standing member of the Central Assembly of God Church where she served as a Sunday School Secretary, participated in Womens Ministries , and traveled with the “Have Time will Travel Club”. Her faith always strong, Ruby was a prayer warrior, always doing visitation, cooking and caring for everyone.
All will remember Ruby for her Faith, her love of family and her work ethic. She loved to accomplish things. Her day was not complete until the work was done. Thankfully with that hard work ethic came the belief that people should eat and Ruby loved to cook and bake. She lived and loved to cook for her family and friends. Ruby’s pies, cinnamon rolls, and cookies are famous to many.
Whether tending to her flowers, ironing everything to meticulous perfection, or supporting her family and friends Ruby gave everything her all: and her all to everything. Her rosy cheeks, bright smile, joyful cackle and the twinkle in her eye will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Ruby is survived by her grandchildren Vickie Moon (Gary), of Yakima; Terry Baldridge (Carol), of Lake Stevens; and Barbara Bogart, of Yakima; great grandchildren Wendy Moon-Rohl (Devin), Ross Baldridge (Stacy), Shane Baldridge, Cammon Bogart, Beau Bogart, and Michael Bogart; great-great grandchildren Ethan & Aiden Rohl.
She was preceeded in death by her husband Ross Dolliver and their Daughters Evelyn Bogart and Joyce Dolliver, her parents Arthur & Elizabeth Bierig, brother Arthur Bierig , and sisters Alice Koenig, Elaine Koesel and Joan Neidhardt.
