Rosita Laya Arreola

Rosita Laya Arreola, 93 of Wapato Washington, beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Rosita or Rosing as she was fondly known was born in Sta. Maria llocos Sur in the Philippines. She met and married her late husband Placido Arreola who gave her the oppurtunity to immigrate to the United States. Together, they raised their family on the Wapato farms.

Rosing was an active member of the Wapato Filipino Community and has participated and helped in countless years, during Filipino Community Events and Celebrations at the Filipino Hall.

Being a great seamstress, she became the "go to" person for clothes alterations by the Filipino Community not only for regular occasions but most importantly for the special ones.

She was an avid farmer and worked tirelessly on her garden raising Asian vegetables every Summer and would gladly and generously share her bountiful crops to Family and Friends visiting from near and far.

She worked at Washington Fruit and at Del Monte for many years and had developed great friendships with coworkers.

She is survived by her daughter Darlene, son Lito and his wife Josie, brother Victorino and wife Irene, sister in law Sabina, grandchildren Joanna and Jayson (wife Thi-le and kids Kaleia and Kainoa), nieces Mercy (kids Samantha and David), Marissa, Marites (kids Francia and Kellie - significant other George and son Mateo), nephews Jessie, Ramil (wife Myra and kids Naven and Ivan) Rizaldy (wife Myla and kids Alvic, Lariz and Larene). Not to forget other family members not mentioned above residing in the US, Canada, Spain, UK and the Philippines.
